“In the Boden project by Stegra AB — the world’s first fully integrated green steel plant and one of the most ambitious industrial projects in Europe — ahc GmbH is taking on key tasks to ensure the smooth running of the project. As a truly first-of-its-kind (FOAK) venture, the site in Boden, Sweden, brings together all the essential process steps of climate-friendly steel production in a virtually CO₂-free production chain for the first time. This goes hand in hand with exceptionally complex international supply and plant logistics, which are largely managed by ahc.
ahc is responsible for managing key supply chain processes — from transport, storage and distribution to the global coordination of suppliers — in order to ensure an efficient and timely flow of goods to the construction site. In addition, ahc performs tasks in quality assurance and plant maintenance to safeguard the technical integrity of components throughout all project phases.
A further focus is on continuous schedule monitoring, enabling dependencies to be identified early and critical milestones to be secured. In this way, ahc is making a decisive contribution to ensuring that the five sub-projects — from the water treatment plant, hydrogen production plant and direct reduction plant through to the steel mill and the balance of plant area — interlock precisely with one another, and that Project Boden serves as an industrial blueprint for the transformation of the global steel industry.”
