Renewing Altona.
With the Hamburg-Altona rail project, Deutsche Bahn is implementing one of the key infrastructure projects in northern Germany. The existing long-distance and regional railway station is being relocated to the site of the current Diebsteich S-Bahn station, where it will be rebuilt as a modern, high-capacity through station.
The aim is to sustainably increase the capacity of rail transport, develop the Hamburg rail hub to meet future needs and, at the same time, create new opportunities for urban development.
The package of measures includes the renewal of track systems and points, as well as the upgrading of signal box technology. In addition, several stations will be modernised and adapted to meet current requirements. Various engineering structures will also be repaired or replaced to ensure the long-term availability of the line and improve operational quality.
In addition, work is planned on the overhead line system, and underground cable works will be carried out. Overall, this forms a coordinated package that combines technical renewal with operational requirements and sustainably strengthens the line for the years to come.

“As part of the reorganisation of the Hamburg rail hub with the construction of the new Diebsteich through station, ahc GmbH is supporting the project as planning coordinator and clash detection specialist. Our focus is on the interdisciplinary coordination of complex planning services in the fields of structural and civil engineering, track and superstructure, overhead line systems, underground cable construction, control and safety technology, telecommunications, drainage, and earthing.
We structure the planning processes, coordinate the technical and scheduling interfaces, and ensure the consistent consolidation of the planning statuses.
